My Paternal Grandmother (or 'babcia') Dorothea 'Doris' Dorschke (1922-1951) was from the Prussian Partition, notably Upper Silesia (now Poland). Her birth name was Dorothea Drożdżok. Her surname was changed to Dorschke in 1934, before marrying Paul Ernst Kaess on March 14, 1944 in the Johannes der Täufer (St. John the Baptist) Ostrog Catholic Church in Ratibor (now Raciborz, Poland) during wartime [1].
